Hello! My name is Molly Gotheridge and I’m a licensed mental health counselor. I specialize in Anxiety Disorders (ie, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic, phobias) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I also have a focus on helping manage the various presentations of perfectionism, shame, and difficult life transitions. I graduated from the University of South Florida with my Masters in Rehabilitation & Mental Health Counseling and from the University of Central Florida with my Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences.
I have been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) - both evidence-based treatments. I engage in ongoing consultations & training to ensure I’m providing the best care to my clients. ACT focuses on gaining insight & awareness into distress, building skills to manage distress, and moving towards the life you want to live. ERP is the gold-standard treatment for OCD, assisting with managing intrusive thoughts, approaching fears, gaining skills to manage distress, and finding freedom in the uncertainty.
With each person I meet, my first priority is to build a safe, trusting relationship through meeting you with compassion, humanness, and sometimes humor, too! Through my own faith journey, I have recognized the importance of incorporating spirituality into everyday experiences as a way to live more fully and receive God’s grace. I would love to help you do the same! It can be intimidating and daunting to start counseling - it’s a big step just to reach out to someone. It would be great to talk with you more about your story and how we can work together to move towards the life you want to live.
