GRACE & NATURE

Frequently Asked Questions
Grace and Nature Counseling – Christian Therapy in Orlando & Statewide in Florida
Do you offer Christian or Catholic counseling?
Yes, our practice specializes in counseling that honors and integrates your Christian or Catholic faith. Many of our therapists are practicing Catholics, and all are experienced in working respectfully across Christian denominations. We also work with clients who are not religious but want a counselor who will understand and honor their beliefs without judgment or evangelization. Therapy is not catechesis — it’s about healing, clarity, and dignity. You can find out more here.
Where are you located? Do you offer virtual sessions?
We offer in-person counseling in downtown Orlando, just minutes from College Park and Winter Park. We also provide virtual therapy throughout Florida, with plans to expand access across other states soon through the Counseling Compact. If you're unsure whether you're eligible for virtual sessions, reach out, we're happy to guide you. For more details on our location check out our contact and location page.
Who do you work with?
With multiple therapists on our team, we’re more likely to find the right fit for your unique needs, whether clinical, developmental, or faith-based. While we are able to work with a wide variety of challenges, some of our specialties include working with adults experiencing OCD, scrupulosity, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts, offering evidence-based care grounded in compassion and clarity. We also support children and teens, with a special focus on families seeking therapists who honor Christian or Catholic values. You can see the individual profiles of each of our therapists here.
Do you take insurance?
We are a private pay practice, which allows us to protect your privacy, customize care, and avoid limits placed by insurance companies. However, we do offer superbills to help you get reimbursed by your insurance provider, and we’re happy to walk you through how that process works. If you would like more information about getting an out of network therapist covered by insurance, make sure to read our thorough guide for this here: Getting and Out of Network Provider Covered by Insurance
We also offer sliding scale rates, and we’ll always talk through options with transparency.
What kinds of therapy do you offer?
At Grace and Nature, our therapists are well-versed in a wide range of evidence-based approaches, allowing us to tailor your counseling experience to your unique needs. We believe therapy should never feel mysterious or one-sided, we’ll explain the methods we’re using and why, so that you remain an informed, active participant in your own healing process. We provide compassionate, research-backed care, and when desired, we thoughtfully integrate your faith into the process.
Some of the approaches we draw from include:
-
ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention): For OCD and scrupulosity; reduces anxiety by gradually facing fears without compulsions.
-
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): Helps identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.
-
ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy): Builds acceptance and helps you take action in line with your values.
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): Processes trauma and reduces emotional distress from past events.
-
IFS (Internal Family Systems): Explores internal “parts” to bring healing and self-compassion.
-
CPRT (Child-Parent Relationship Therapy): Strengthens parent-child bonds through structured play and connection.
-
Play-Based Therapy: Helps children express emotions and build skills through play.
-
Parent Coaching: Offers practical support for parenting challenges.
-
Person-Centered Therapy: A supportive, relational approach focused on empathy and respect.
-
Boundaries Work: Develops healthy relationship patterns and self-respect.
-
Faith Integration: Rooted in Catholic teaching, spiritual formation, and theology of the body — as much or as little as you choose.

What happens when I reach out?
You can click the Contact Us Today button, and one of our counselors will reach out personally to schedule a free 30-minute consultation call. This is a no-pressure opportunity to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit. We’re committed to best-fit care, and if we believe a therapist outside of our practice would serve you better, we’ll gladly refer you. This is about your healing, not our egos. What if I can't afford a full session fee?
We offer lower-fee sessions with highly trained student interns. These counselors-in-training undergo a rigorous screening process, and their work is supervised weekly by fully licensed therapists. It’s similar to how medical residents train in hospitals, capable, compassionate, and carefully guided. Each of our clinicians also offer a limited number of sliding fee scales. When you speak to them during a consultation, make sure to ask if there any spots open or if you can join a waitlist.
What does "faith integrated therapy" mean?
We believe that faith is not an add-on, it’s foundational. Our approach to therapy recognizes that your spiritual and religious life is central to your well-being, not something to be sidelined.
Whether you want to explore your faith more deeply, understand moral dilemmas, or simply want your therapist to “get it” when you talk about prayer or the sacraments, we’re here for that. We meet each client where they are, with respect, reverence, and clinical skill. Find out more about spiritual integration in counseling here!
Is therapy right for me?
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or spiritually dry — therapy can help. We’re here to support you through scrupulosity, anxiety, parenting stress, or simply the ache of being human. And if you’re wondering whether this kind of work is “Catholic enough” or “too clinical,” the answer is: you don’t have to choose between healing and holiness.
If you're still not sure, schedule a consultation, we’d love to chat about your options. No pressure, we prefer informed decisions over manipulative sales pitches. Click the button below to get the conversation started!
