Faith Based Therapy for Homeschooled Children

About

At Grace and Nature we know that the challenges experienced in families that prioritize homeschooling are different. Homeschooling families prioritize relationship and closeness and spiritual and moral development alongside academic development. If you are looking for a therapist that knows and understands the unique experience of homeschooling in our modern world, we have you covered!

Common Reasons Homeschool Families Seek Therapy

  1. You notice anxiety, worry, or overwhelming emotions that are more than average

  2. Your child is challenged with emotional regulation or frequent meltdowns

  3. There are struggles with attention or focus

  4. Your child experiences social anxiety or difficulty with peer interactions

  5. Family transitions (moves, divorce or separation, grief, new siblings, etc....)

  6. Behaviors concerns

  7. Trauma history

  8. Support with executive functioning (task completion, routines, organization, task initiation)

  9. Help navigating big emotions in a faith centered home

Our Catholic Approach

At Grace and Nature we integrate the Church's moral and anthropological teachings into therapy at the level appropriate for each client. This means that we have a respect for the teachings of the Church and bring that into the counseling room. We see parents as the key-partners in the therapeutic process. Our therapists do not undermine parent concerns, beliefs, preferences, or parenting style. In fact it is quite the opposite! Our child therapists see the parent-child relationship as the most effective tool to help bring balance and peace to children's inner worlds!

Here's some of what you can expect from faith integrated counseling for children:

  • Regular parent check-ins and feed back

  • Practical strategies that can be used during daily homeschool routines

  • Support for parenting challenges alongside child therapy

  • Optional Catholic/Christian integration depending on parent preference

  • Respect for each family's spiritual life and values

  • Helping children understand identity, regulate emotions, and understand their dignity

Skills Children May Work on In Therapy:
